Sunday Walk

I went for a bush walk with Stijn & Denise on Sunday afternoon.. The route was "Taronga to Balmoral". There is an official route map, it starts from Taronga zoo wharf to Balmoral beach, it's about 6km, 2hrs walking course but We started from my place which is located in Mosman, just 20mins walk to Taronga zoo.

At 1:30pm, it was great weather for the walk, a bit hot though.. heading to Taronga zoo without problems, then we lost our way to Clifton Garden... even we got a map?! If I walked by myself, I was sure I looked the map very carefully but here I come, I was with 2 friends..... just followed them!

but we found out where we were, and followed the route map again.

Somehow... we took the wrong way again and started walking on the seaside rocks not in the bushes.. stepped ups and downs on the rocks.. totally away from the map. Walking on the rocks.. about 30mins.. we're finally back to the original route. It was already 4pm, we were supposed to be at Balmoral beach by the time....

So that we decided to take a shortcut to go back.... actually.. to go to the nearest pub for drinks!

It was great walk and cold beers to cool us down afterwards :-)

2月の長雨...

It's been raining for a week... it was nearly 40c last Sunday, then suddenly it goes down to 20c... it shouldn't be like that in the middle of February though. My Australian friend said that is a typical Australian weather... but It's too much rain and too early to start autumn now..

I was at the airport to see my friend, Rob off today. I hoped that the weather would be better today for his departure but it was the same... raining. It makes me feel sadder to see him off, especially on the way back home from the airport, even now at home.. It's always hard to leave the sadness at the airport.


So it's better to go to sleep now..

Explore new places

It was a beautiful sunny day, I went to Palm Beach with my friend. From my place, about 45 mins drive to Palm Beach. It is blessed with a lush evergreen bushland and golden sand on the beach. Also it is a place for the rich and famous with many multi million dollar houses!!

On our way to the beach, there were many beautiful lagoons, beaches and parks I've never seen before. I just realized that I haven't traveled much since I came to Australia and haven't known much about even Sydney.. There are so many beautiful places in NSW I've never been to.

When I was in Toronto, I went everywhere by bicycle to explore new places... everywhere. So, now it's time to do it again here! but not by bicycle though.... too many up & down hills in Sydney.


In 2009, explore new places, that's one of my new year's resolution!

Happy 2009 started!

At the year-end, a bit feeling homesick.. as I have missed the time of new years with family for 3 years.

On New Year's day at 0:08 am.. talking on the phone with my family. My sister, brother-in-law & Daikichi came over my parent's home to have dinner & the buckwheat noodles! (It's very traditional style on NYE in Japan)


My mum had completely forgotten my birthday as she was very busy thinking about buying crabs. (every year, around this time, she goes to the fish market in Toyama to buy fresh crabs for new year's dishes...) It's ok coz that's my mum :-)

My sister is now heavier than me as she has put on weight recently and asked me if she could borrow my clothes from my drawers. It's first time from my life that I am lighter than her! Yes, you can take my clothes!

My brother-in-law has passed the exam and now he is a Real Estate Transaction Specialist! He took a bit long to pass the exam though!! Anyway "Congratulation!!"

Daikichi... was very busy trying to take my mum's socks off as always while I talked on the phone!

My father seemed to be happy spending NYE with everyone at home and said to me that there was something missing here.... that was you..

Hmm... wish I could fly over there. but I was happy that everyone was happy then.

It's already 3rd of January. Although it's a little bit late to say Happy New Year! wishing my family & friends all the best and 2009 will bring lots of happiness &.....smiles :-))
